UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT
CENTRAL DISTRICT OF CALIFORNIA
GROUNDHOG JOB SHADOW DAY AT THE FEDERAL COURTHOUSE
As part of its community outreach, the district is hosting its fifth annual Groundhog Job Shadow Day on February 15, 2008, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. From 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., the court will host a lunch for all participants so that everyone can share their experiences. This year, the Western Division has been paired with Santee Education Complex, School of Business, Technology and Finance.
Groundhog Job Shadow Day (which kicks off in early February, hence the name) is dedicated to giving young people across America job shadowing experiences. It enables one student to shadow a workplace mentor as he or she goes through a normal day on the job, providing an up-close look at how the skills learned in school are put into action in the workplace. Sponsored by Junior Achievement of Southern California, the goal is to provide students across America with a day in the workplace that is educational, inspiring and fun.
